Qigong & Tai Chi ~ Moving Meditations for Fall
Fall is a season for getting go and creating new space for who & what we want to become. It is normal to be fearful of the process of letting go. We seek to hold onto things; not trusting that change can be an opportunity for growth.
We hold onto stress, stagnant emotional energy, physical tension, old thought patterns, and even unhealthy relationships. While we think that holding onto these things allows us to have more, it really just prevents us from creating the space to invite in what we truly want in life.
- Often we are not even aware of what we are holding onto to or we might think that we’ve already let go. People don’t ask us “what emotions or thought patterns do you want to let go of?” Rather, people ask “what more can you take on?” Staying overly busy prevents us from being aware of how much we’re carrying, physically & emotionally.
- Once we let go there is space, freedom and opportunity. Space to create, to dream, to love.
Within the space that exists after we let go, we can replenish ourselves with who we truly are and what we want to become. We have clarity & courage to embrace emotions, thoughts, and activities that reflect our truest essence.
This is a lifelong process: to grow, release, and grow again. The changing of seasons is our best teacher. Let us harmonize with the what the season of fall is showing us in all her detail. Let go and let go again just like the falling leaves.
During Qigong class, I will teach simple yet powerful practices for releasing old energy and welcoming in the opportunity for growth. You will learn practices that strengthen the lungs and it’s partner the large intestine which are governed by the Metal Element according to Chinese medicine. We will focus on every organ system but during fall we pay a little more attention to the lungs. You will learn Qigong forms to boost your immune system and provide extra clarity you need to prepare for the winter months (i.e. conserve your Qi.) Each class will also include grounding and calming moving meditations as well as practical tools like self-massage and self-acupressure.
Are you ready to embark on a mind/body journey that facilitates letting go of old energy, creating space for new opportunities, and bolstering your immune system? Please join me all week long and pick a practice to stay the course of deep nourishment and change.
